HKDSE – PRC is pulling college student’s legs
Before the handover of Hong Kong in 1997-07-01, Hong Kong academy never recognizes mainland university graduate’s qualification, for they should have adverse effects on local breadwinners. Now with the advent of HKDSE curriculum since 2009-09-01, when compared to mainland high school graduating examinations, the senior high subject syllabi have been much easier, which favors many locusts from mainland. These insects can bypass mainland high school graduating examinations by sitting for HKDSE, then getting promoted to postgraduates, plus earning permanent Hong Kong citizen identity to threaten many local labors, inclusive but not limited to local undergraduates, who are just making both ends (salary and loans) meet. It seems that HKDSE is a scam fooling local adolescents.

Looking at Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority’s home page and study the ever-changing syllabus for each subject. The syllabus gets easier and easier by tailoring part of them every year. The most ridiculous instance is that, for post-2014 HKDSE Chinese Literature, the last prescribed texts, which is a drama, adopted from HKALE, called 西施, is replaced by another drama, adopted from HKCEE, called 日出, with immediate effect. Such a hasty arrangement makes both students and teachers confused. Simply put, PRC want to make local generations stupid and let locusts phase them out in future.

The only obstacle for local HKDSE candidates is Chinese Language. It adopts the style of mainland high school graduating examinations and in Paper 2 Writing, examiners intends to make candidate’s script irrelevant to the question by setting up many task-fulfillment constraints. This makes the composition no longer literature but ass-licking practice. In 2014, there exists such a question to force candidates to identify with rotten Neo-Confucian’s view on keeping silence as a must. This alone gives a clear signal that the question-setter, directly by the government, discourages any form of social movement in Hong Kong. The infamous Neo-Confucian’s ideologies that, the sub-ordinary should 100% observe immediate supervisor’s directive - which is common in PRC - is thus widespread in local post-1990s generation. Those getting high grade by choosing such a writing question are indeed watchdog directing against local peer’s intention for socio-political participation. Just for information, the percentage of candidates passing HKDSE Chinese Language is but a numeric game set by authorities (Note the plural noun – there are many hidden directors in local politics) at will.

The third case is that, HKDSE Chemistry becomes another form of 八股文. Many routes for organic synthesis are badly cut to pieces to encourage rote-learning, not to say the 6 limited types of Lewis structures. Those candidates with good awareness of risk often consult HKAL Chemistry syllabus for complete understanding by reading reaction mechanism that even IBDP Standard Level syllabus includes.

The most insulting fact about HKDSE comes in Economics. In HKAL, a famous local economist, Steven N.S. Cheung (張五常) had produced vivid, calculus-free microeconomic courses to arts stream candidates, but many assholes advocating HKDSE forgo this and even plagiarize the macroeconomics syllabus of IBDP Standard Level, introducing AS-AD model without the HKAL macroeconomic foundation on Keynesianism and IS-LM model. Many HKDSE genius wannabes get 5**, and when they study freshman economics courses, those do not learn from scratch will have their GPA plummeting owing to lack of consolidation with the aid of die-off HKAL economics.

In sum, my motto is that, a good analyzer must be a good collector. If current HKDSE candidates do not learn beyond the little syllabi by at least reviewing and preserving HKALE stuff they are ensured to be defeated by super-diligent and ultra-mean NDS (內地生) inside local postgraduate markets.
