In response, I want to stress that over the past 17 years since
Hong Kong's return, the success of the 'One Country, Two
Systems' policy has been widely recognized and applauded by
the international community. Hong Kong is enjoying a high
degree of autonomy and democracy as never before. I also want
to point out that Hong Kong is now a Special Administrative
Region of China. The affairs of Hong Kong SAR are purely
China's internal affairs. Hence China is firmly opposed to any
interference in Hong Kong affairs by any foreign country and by
any means.
