A father and son duo have created a car hack which turned their family saloon into a giant driving simulator. The hack enables the controls of the car to emulate the controller for the N64 game Mario Kart


In a video uploaded to YouTube, Gordon Hlavenka can be seen using the steering wheel to control his direction, the real brakes to control virtual brakes, the windshield wipers to control the special items in the game, and the high beams to control the jumping of the in-game kart


The hack uses a Raspberry Pi mini computer connected to the car and a laptop running an N64 console emulator. Signals from the car are used to control the action in the emulated game
