1) They had to take him home so they could control access to him.
2) The necessary plastic surgery has been performed on the person selected to be his body double, but it will take some time to heal up properly.
3) The replacement Nelson Mandela is currently in training to perfect the voice and mannerisms.
Expect a public appearance from the new and improved Madiba at the next opportune political gathering.
