Appeal to CityU students

Dear Students and Colleagues,

In the last few days, there have been conflicts and chaos in different demonstration areas in Hong Kong which make me all the more worried about the safety of our students who remain there. I earnestly appeal to all students present at these demonstration areas to leave as soon as possible as these places are no longer safe.

Due to prior official engagements, I was in the US earlier and am on my way back to Hong Kong now. But what concerns me most is the safety of the students, and I’m sure your families and teachers who care about you feel the same way.

As President, I sincerely urge every student to leave the demonstration areas as soon as possible to ensure your personal safety.

各位同學、同事：

過去幾天，香港各示威地點出現衝突和混亂的情況，令我更加擔憂仍留在這些地區的城大同學的人身安全。我在此懇切呼籲所有在場同學盡快撤離示威地點，因為這些地區已不再安全。

由於早前安排的公務，我身在美國，現正趕回香港。但是我心中最牽掛的是同學的安全，也相信關心你們的家人和老師的心情跟我一樣。

身為城大校長，我懇請各位同學盡快離開示威地點，確保個人安全。
