前途」系列:「港獨與台獨:公投制憲與獨立的關係」論壇| Hong Kong Prospect in Discussion Series: ‘Hong Kong and Taiwan Independence: the Relationship between De facto Referendum and Independence’ 】

Recently, the Union and the Undergrad, HKUSU have sparked off discussion on the future of our own city, in which possibility of Hong Kong Independence was further explored. At the same time, the establishment of the Hong Kong National Party, the first ever political party proposing Independence, induces much attention from our society. Government spokespersons yet claim such proposition to be illegal. The experience of Taiwan on the other shore is undoubtedly worth studying in the midst of suppression on discussion of Hong Kong independence.
On the other hand, with the new session of the Legislative Council approaching, stances and attitudes of various candidates and political parties towards Hong Kong prospect will certainly become a huge concern of us all. While a de facto referendum is one of the proposals, how will that be carried out?
Therefore, the Hong Kong University Students’ Union shall hold a forum on the topic of ‘Hong Kong and Taiwan Independence: the Relationship between De facto Referendum and Independence’ on 8th April 2016 (Friday). Guest Speakers include Prof. Man To Leung, a keen pioneer in Taiwanese independence movement from the Department of Political Science of the National Cheng Kung University, Mr Yuk Man Wong and Dr Chung Tai Cheng, who have just jointly announced their electioneering for pushing forward the de facto referendum.
Details of the forum are as follows:
Date: 8th April 2016 (Friday)
Time: 1230 - 1430
Venue: Sun Yat-sun Place
Guest Speakers:
Prof. Man To Leung (Professor at the Department of Political Science of the National Cheng Kung University)
Mr Yuk Man Wong (Legislative Councillor)
Dr Chung Tai Cheng (Member of Civic Passion)
