Actor Bill Paxton has died at the age of 61. The Titanic and Twister star passed away on Saturday because of complications following a heart surgery. The actor leaves behind two children and his wife of 30 years Louise Newbury (right)


Paxton played the role of Brock Lovett in Titanic the treasure hunter that discovered the Heart of the Ocean necklace in the film


In the 1986 film Aliens, Paxton played the role of Private Hudson in the movie


Paxton was set to appear alongside Tom Hanks later this year in The Circle, who said in a tweet: 'Bill Paxton was, simply, a wonderful man'


Paxton (left) starred in Apollo 13 alongside Tom Hanks (center) and Kevin Bacon (right). Hanks and Paxton stayed close and worked together again over the years


Director Doug Liman (far right) worked with Paxton (far left) in the film Edge of Tomorrow and said the actor was worried about his upcoming surgery


Paxton was expected to reprise his role of Master Sergeant Farell (pictured) in the sequel of Edge of Tomorrow, the director of the action film said

Arnold Schwarzenegger said Paxton was a 'great human being with a huge heart'





Actor Rob Lowe posted a series of tweets that sent his condolences to his family and said he was devastated by the sudden loss of his close friend


Aaron Paul, known for his role in Breaking Bad, was also stunned by the news of Paxton's death


Paxton was on the CBS series Training Day at the time of his death. He is seen during one of the scenes of the show which is set to be released on March 2


Zach Braff also tweeted about the sudden death of the actor on Sunday


Josh Gad, known as the voice of Olaf in Frozen, called the late actor an icon and paid homage to his role of Private Hudson in Aliens


He appeared in the 1996 film Twister where he played the role of Bill Harding. He is pictured alongside actress and co-star Helen Hunt


The actor was on the Golden Globe-nominated HBO series Big Love with Jeanne Tripplehorn, Chloe Sevigny and Ginnifer Goodwin


Bill Paxton's senior yearbook photo was taken in 1973 at Arlington Heights High School in Fort Worth, Texas


Paxton married Canadian actress Kelly Rowan in 1979 but they divorced shortly after in July of 1980


The 51-year-old is best known for her role as Kristen Cohen in the hit television series The O.C.


Paxton later met his second wife Louise Newbury on a bus in London when she was a teenager


Paxton recently said he was 'thrilled' to have his son James Paxton, 22, to guest-star on an episode of the CBS series Training Day
