英女王伊利沙伯二世，昨日主持英國最大航空母艦，「伊利沙伯女王號」服役儀式。 英女王在樸次茅斯的航母服役儀式致辭，指航母體現英國的最新科技，戰鬥力最強，成為英國海軍的旗艦，「伊利沙伯女王號」的建造費用高達三十一億英鎊。 排水量六萬五千噸，雙艦島設計，可以搭載最少四十架戰機，是英國史上最大的航母，將會在2020年組成航母戰鬥群，而另一艘新型航母，「威爾斯親王號」仍建造中，預計2020年服役。

按傳統由成艦最年輕嘅水手, 同埋艦長嘅老婆切餅慶祝新艦落水。而果位最年輕嘅水手, 咁啱又係呢位港裔英國人Callum Hui切餅。

The proceedings ended with an eight foot cake replica of the warship being cut with a sword by the youngest sailor on board and the wife of the ship’s commander, Capt Jerry Kyd.

He only began his basic training in March and joined the nation’s future flagship in October.

The 17-year-old said before the ceremony that the honour of cutting the cake was the highlight of his brief naval career so far and would “probably be one of the stories you tell your kids".

He said: “I am excited to say the least. This is my first ship, straight out of training, and just to have the honour of cutting the cake on commissioning day - it is exciting stuff."
