任職《金融時報》的外國記者會副主席馬凱被特區政府拒續發工作簽證，繼英國要求港府立即解釋、美國炮轟港府做法不符《基本法》後，今日連歐盟也發聲，質疑有關決定。

歐洲聯盟駐港澳辦事處發言人回覆查詢時指，歐盟正密切留意事件，並期望香港政府澄清拒絕向一名記者發出簽證的原因，歐盟又為香港表達和新聞自由本受《基本法》和《公民權利及政治權利國際公約》所保障，如今卻引起一個正式疑問。

The EU is following this issue closely and expects the HK government to clarify the reasons of the refusal to grant visa to a journalist. This incident raises legitimate questions about the freedom of press and expression in HK, which are guaranteed by HK’s Basic Law and ICCPR."
